The purpose of this blog is to illustrate the differing types of buildings that can exist within an urbanized area. It is also to show the relationship that these buildings have with urbanization. They can be used to show different stages of development in the urban area.
Since a large portion of the world in general is urban, that is, 54%, (UN.org, 2015) this is relevant. Development is intrinsically linked to urbanization, the types of buildings in an urban area should be an indicator of the development of the area. However, this is not always the case, and this blog is to showcase this.
